Today, Greg Dutton announced his candidacy for Lawrence County Probate Judge. Greg was
joined by his family and friends as he qualified with the Lawrence County Republican Party.
Judge Mike Praytor will not be seeking re-election due to Probate Judge age restrictions. The
primary will be June 5 th .

Greg knows what it means to serve the public as he has tirelessly served the citizens of Moulton
for the last 22 years as the Superintendent and Manager of the City of Moulton Water Works.
Prior to serving as Water Superintendent, he worked and managed Valley Auto Parts for 10
years alongside his wife, Kimberly. He also owned his own auto parts business, the NAPA
Yellowfront, in the early 1980’s.

Greg stays active in the community by serving on the Board of Directors for both the Lawrence
County Hospital Board and the North Central Alabama Mental Retardation Authority (NCAMRA)
Board. He serves as president of the John A. Garrett Scholarship committee and is a member of
the following organizations: the Alabama Rural Water Association (ARWA), the Alabama Society
of Water Professionals, Gideons International, the City of Moulton Technical Review
Committee, WALW Radio Broadcast Crew, and the Lawrence County Emergency Planning
Committee.

He is also a former member of the following: Moulton City Council, the Community
Development Board for Union Planters Bank, the Moulton Jaycees, and the Southern
Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) accreditation committee for Lawrence County
Schools.

Greg Dutton has a passion for the people of Lawrence County and wants to serve as their next
Probate Judge. “I know firsthand how important and valuable each person’s time is to their
family, and how frustrating handling business with any government entity can become,” said
Greg as he announced his candidacy for Lawrence County Probate Judge. “I will continue to
provide your family with the trust and confidence we all seek when dealing with the issues we
all will face at one time or the other. All of our families deserve a receptive, confidential,
caring, and compassionate court representative. No one should ever feel intimidated by the
process of legal necessity. I have spent my entire adult life helping others. If elected as Probate
Judge, I will strive to continue to serve you, the people of Lawrence County, with my heart and
soul. There are only 24 hours in a day. Sometimes that is what it takes to get the job done.
The most gratifying feeling in the world for me comes from helping those in need. Decisions
are not always clear and solutions are not always easy. The problems facing all of us today will
test our character and courage to handle the needs of so many. This will be accomplished with
the same work ethic instilled in me by my family and friends. I look forward to the days ahead
and would be honored to serve you the next six years in the Office of Lawrence County Probate
Judge,” said Dutton.

Greg has been married to his wife, Kimberly Letson Dutton for thirty-seven years and they have
three sons: Dusten (Kelly Heflin), Austin (Ari Stephenson), and Landon (Emily Chandler). They
also have two grandchildren (Sarah and Kathryn, ages 11 and 9). He is the son of Billy and
Shelby Dutton. Greg and his wife are members of Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church where he
teaches Bible Class. He also enjoys spending his spare time singing and spreading the gospel
through song with the Abundant Life Trio.
